Since its formation in 2014, the Friends of Abkhazi Garden Society has been helping to fund Garden-related projects, while keeping a watchful eye on this unique urban oasis.
In 2018, Friends bought a new chipper for the Garden, so that garden waste can be turned into nutrient-rich, water-conserving mulch for the garden beds. We also funded the building of a low dry-stone wall up the driveway.
In 2019, Friends plan to spend more than $5,000 on projects like rebuilding the alpine bed, as well as tools (including a much-needed leaf-blower), plants, bulbs, and lawn maintenance.
We invite you to become a member of the Friends, for a fee of $20 per year. Membership fees and donations help to support the Garden. Note that although the Society is a non-profit society, it can not give charitable receipts.
As a member, you’ll receive periodic news emails about activities at the Garden and will be invited to the Annual General Meeting in March and to other Garden-related events.
